Blog Content For The Beauty Industry That Gets Results

Tangible Results From The Beauty Blog I Started in 2018 And Sold In 2022

Content That Gets Sales

I started Makeupscholar.com in 2018 and sold it in 2022.

Through engaging, SEO-optimized blog content, I generated over $18,523 worth of sales for brands in just a three month period in 2021.

Content That Gets Traffic

Starting from zero views in 2018, I grew Makeupscholar to tens of thousands of visits per month.

In just a three month period in 2021, my tiny beauty blog had over 52,500 clicks and 1.82 million search impressions.

Recommended Beauty Blog Content Package

Best Value Package: save money per post, an extra editing revision, content calendar, and post uploads on WordPress

The Signature Content Strategy Package

Four SEO-Optimized Blog Posts Per Month

(4 Posts Per Month | Approximately 1,000-1,500 Words Each)

What’s Included:

  • Topic Ideas - I’ll find the questions your target market really wants the answers to. These will form the topic ideas.

  • Content Calendar - Blog content is a marketing strategy and I want to boost your traffic as much as possible. Being strategic about the topics you publish, and how they relate to each other, is crucial for blogging success. I’ll create and share a content calendar with you and schedule strategically chosen blog posts for the coming weeks or months that we work together.

  • Keyword Research - I’ll find the low-competition, high-search-volume keywords that your target market is Googling right now.

  • Research For Each Topic - A deep dive into the topic. This includes targeted forum and social media research to understand what your target audience is saying. I’ll back up any claims with data or references when applicable.

  • SEO Optimizing Each Post - No blackhat techniques! I follow Google’s official content creation and SEO guidelines.

There are key areas in each post that need the target keyword. For the rest of the post, I write content with the main target keyword (and secondary keywords) in the back of my mind. This typically results in the recommended 1-2% keyword density target. I do not keyword stuff. Google and your readers hate keyword stuffing.

I’m experienced with Yoast SEO, meta descriptions, H tags, image alt text, internal linking, external linking, removing excess words from the URL slug, etc.

  • Calls To Action Linking To Your Beauty Products/Services (Where Applicable) - Sending leads off the blog post and onto your product page - converting to customers.

  • Title With Revisions - Ideas for the title of the post, including the exact target keyword (if grammatically possible).

  • Two Rounds Of Editing Revisions - Two free rounds of revisions after I send the first draft.

  • At Least One External Link and Multiple Internal Links (Where Possible) - This is key for SEO optimization.

  • Sourcing Relevant Screenshots And Royalty-Free Images - Free-for-use images that fit the topic of the post and the vibe of your brand. Includes SEO-optimized alt text for greater search engine visibility.

    ADD-ONS

  • Upload Through Wordpress For Your Convenience - I ran my own WordPress blog for four years: I know uploading is surprisingly tedious and time-consuming. Let me take the hassle off your hands.

  • Use of Yoast SEO PlugIn On WordPress - This is an important WordPress plugin for SEO. I’ll try to get your posts as optimized (green) as possible (without sacrificing the quality of the post for the reader).

Typically Ranges from $1350 to $1780

Complying with Google’s guidelines is what will help your brand get more traffic, leads, and ultimately sales.

This is why I charge by package - not by word count. The approximate word count is a rough benchmark for the scope of the topic. Longer projects take more time to properly research and write, and the price reflects that.

It may be tempting to stick to shorter posts to save time and money.

Shorter posts are often less helpful for the reader - especially if the post leaves a lot of unanswered questions. People exit your website and find a post with more information elsewhere. This makes it much more difficult to beat the competition, rank higher, and get more leads.

At the same time, I won’t write irrelevant words for the purpose of meeting an arbitrary word count. Google hates that! I follow their guidelines and provide people-first, helpful, and trustworthy content.

Ideal Word Count & Why I Recommend The Signature Monthly Package

What Is The Ideal Word Count For A Blog Post In The Beauty Industry?

Google made it clear that they do not have a preferred word count when it comes to ranking content.

Helpful, reliable, and people-first content is what Google cares about.

At the same time, Google recommends publishing “comprehensive” content, and avoiding “insufficient content for the purpose of the page.”

A blog post should be as long as it needs to be to provide quality for the reader: no shorter, and no longer.

My Signature Monthly Package Offers Enough Scope To Cover Many Beauty Topics In Depth

My Signature Monthly Package provides four posts a month in the 1,000 - 1,500 word range.

Some posts could be shorter, if any extra words would be fluff. Other posts could be longer, if more words are necessary to accurately cover the scope of the topic.

The 1,000 - 1,500 range provides enough scope to cover many beauty topics in-depth for your readers.

  • It’s not too short.

Let’s avoid leaving your readers with tons of unanswered questions! Leaving out key information takes them off your brand’s site and back onto Google.

  • It’s not artificially long.

Google and your target market hate when blogs fill space with irrelevant fluff for the sake of a word count.

Typically ranges from $1350 to $1780

If The Signature Monthly Package Is Out Of Your Budget Right Now

You want an active blog to generate new leads and sales, but the Signature Package is out of your content budget right now.

I created The Saver Content Calendar Package just for you!

This package offers four posts a month in the 500-700 word range.

Although shorter posts won’t move the needle as much as longer content, we can still achieve real results.

As much as possible, I try to find the topics and high-volume, low-competition keywords that support the scope of the package.

This is important as we need to minimize the number of unanswered questions in this shorter form content. Plus, we need to show Google that we’re providing real value (even if it is quite brief) for the readers.

Typically ranges from $700 to $920

New to working with freelancers?

Here’s my simple approach to delivering your blog posts.

Getting The Project Rolling

  1. We will discuss your brand’s specific blog content needs via email or a quick call. This includes the packages offered above, potential topic ideas, your brand voice, and word count ranges.

  2. Based on that initial email sequence or call, I will create a content strategy that works for both of us.

  3. I will email you a summary of the project proposal. This will reiterate everything I will provide, the project deadline, and a custom quote. I will attach an industry-standard contract to protect both of our interests.

Delivering Your New Blog Content

  1. Once I research, write, and edit the first draft of the post I will share it with you (one week before the proposed publish date) via Google Docs.

  2. You can review the piece and request a free revision (or two free revisions, if you choose any of the packages above).

  3. I will send an invoice that can be paid via Wise. Note that I am based in Ireland but charge in USD (or the total in USD converted to your local currency), for your convenience.
